Overview

The Interior Design For Beginners course is designed to provide introductory training on basic design principles, focusing on the role of an interior designer and popular industry trends.

In this course, you will explore fundamental design concepts, including room-by-room training. You will also learn about sustainability in interior design and how to be eco-friendly as well as cost-effective. We provide the tools to implement effective project planning, teaching you the essential elements of each room and how to utilise space effectively.

On successful completion, you will have a solid understanding of interior design’s dos and don’ts and the foundational knowledge to start growing your portfolio.

Learning Objectives

• Experience a complete room-by-room tour designed by industry experts
• Understand the key principles of interior design and how the industry has evolved
• Familiarise with the different stages of an interior design project, including planning and budgeting
• Explore current industry trends, colour schemes and layouts
• Be able to utilise any space and layout effectively to get the most out of each room
• Explore different ways to decorate space, from wallpapering to statement upholstery
• Learn how to present your work to clients and structure your portfolio

Who is this Course for?

This introductory course is ideal for aspiring interior designers who wish to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to fast-track their careers. It is for those who have little or no knowledge of the principles of interior design or those who are new to the field and want to test their skills and knowledge. There are no entry requirements for this course. However, an eye for detail and a creative mind is essential.

Requirements

• This course is available to all learners of all academic backgrounds.
• Learners should be 16 or over to undertake the course.
• A strong grasp of English, numeracy, and ICT is necessary for enrollment in this course.
